Product Details
Ajrakh is an ancient resist-printing craft from the Indus Valley that later thrived in Kutch and Sindh. Local artisans carve detailed wooden blocks for hand-printing symmetric patterns like stars and mandalas. These designs draw from desert nights, vast landscapes, and precious water sources, telling stories of nature and time. The process takes days, with layers of resist paste, natural dyes, and repeated washing on both fabric sides. Pastoral communities have treasured Ajrakh for generations using earthy colors from plants like indigo and madder.
Deep Wine Maroon base with Charcoal Black and Muted Indigo undertones, softened by the natural sheen of Tussar silk. The colors have a slightly earthy, vintage depth typical of natural vegetable dyes.
