Kota Cotton is a lighted woven fabric made by tiny woven squares, which is handwoven on traditional pit looms in Kaithoon near Kota in Rajasthan and in some of the surrounding villages. Kota cotton sarees are made of pure cotton and silk and have square like patterns. The chequered weave of a Kota sari is very popular. They are very fine weaves and weigh very little.
Here, Kota cotton sarees are Printed lehariya using organic colors, These are are inspired by natural patterns made by the wind blowing across the desert sands of Rajasthan. Lehariya is a traditional style of Rajasthan’s Tie-Dye Practice.
